The National Lottery BIG NIGHT OF MUSICALS will air on BBC One this month
Big Night Of Musicals (1×90) will be staged by The National Lottery at AO Arena Manchester on Monday 24 January and feature a hit bill featuring actors from the country’s most popular musicals. Coverage of this event will air in a special on BBC One on Saturday, January 29.
The event will be presented by comedian, presenter and singer Jason Manford with the arena audience and viewers at home to enjoy special collaborations and sensational performances of some of musical theater’s greatest songs during this celebration. unique 90 minutes. The event will serve as a ‘thank you’ to national lottery players who helped support the arts during the Covid crisis.
Actors from current West End shows including Frozen The Musical, Disney’s The Lion King, Back To The Future, The Drifters Girl, Dear Evan Hanson, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, & Juliet and Get Up Stand Up! The Bob Marley musical will be performing. There will also be cast performances from shows that are currently touring the UK, including Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock, Bat Out of Hell, Dreamgirls and Waitress, as well as the cast of Beauty and the Beast will appear in a unique Disney Medley. All of these performances promise to bring the magic of musicals straight to viewers in the comfort of their own homes.
In addition to the program on BBC One, performances of the event will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday January 30, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and will be available live and for 30 days thereafter on BBC Sounds.

The big night of the National Lottery musicals will be filmed at the AO Arena in Manchester in accordance with current advice and guidance from the UK and the local government in place at the time with coverage of the event being broadcast by BBC One and BBC Radio 2.
