I won £105m in EuroMillions and shelled out £850,000 on cars…but I’m still driving my wife’s used Volvo
A MANUFACTURER who won £105million in EuroMillions has shelled out £850,000 on cars – but continues to drive around in his wife’s used Volvo.
The driveway of Steve Thomson’s £4.5million country mansion looks like a Top Gear ensemble.
It houses three £100,000 Range Rovers, a £100,000 Tesla and a £200,000 Lamborghini-like supercar.
The 43-year-old father-of-three has also invested in two premium £50,000 VW vans and a £50,000 Ford Mustang.
But despite the expensive fleet, Steve still chooses to ride around in his wife Lenka’s XC90.
A neighbor from his Home Counties village said: “Steve has a car for every day of the week. Maybe they buy them for the kids?
Another local said: “He has at least one supercar. It’s bright green so I think it’s a Lamborghini.
“If you have that kind of money, you need to take advantage of it – and Steve certainly is.
“We think he gave a lot, so good for him to spend some on himself.”
Steve and Lenka, 42, moved into his 14.5-acre estate – complete with swimming pool, tennis court and party barn – a year after hitting the jackpot.
Until then, Steve’s only luxury was a used VW van so he could honor all the construction work he undertook prior to his victory.
He even said he plans to do any DIY himself.
The six-bedroom farmhouse, which has a 51-foot dining room, also has its own lake house and stables. Steve declined to comment.
