Dublin shop owner ‘thrilled’ to sell €3.6m winning lotto ticket
The shop owner who sold the winning ticket for the €3.6 million lotto jackpot has expressed her excitement that one of her local customers is Ireland’s latest millionaire.
On Friday, the National Lottery was still awaiting news from the lucky ticket holder and is asking him to come forward to claim the prize that will change his life.
Meanwhile, there were celebrations at the Extramart store in Drumcondra, north Dublin city.
Shop owner Safida Begum said it was a “surprise” when she found out her shop had sold the winning ticket.
“Oh my God, that was really a surprise to me,” she said.
“I was really thrilled. This area is beautiful, the people are so lovely.
Ms Begum has run the store for more than a decade and said it was a good thing for the locality.
She said she can’t wait to find out which of her clients is now a multi-millionaire.
“It’s the only corner store, it’s the corner store.
“I ask everyone who comes in – have you checked your ticket?”
